Ric+Pamela | Fun Couples in Business

Happy Monday!  A few portraits today of Ric and Pamela of La Palma Home Finder.  What can I say, we appreciate fellow couples in business as Jeff and I are a husband and wife photography team.  It is an amazing experience to work together and reach for a common goal, the success of your business.  We had such a fun time with these two.  They are great people who are fabulous to work with.

This was Ric and Pamela’s couple portrait used for their business! It is a fun shot that represents both of their personalities & their relationship as a couple.  I love that they picked something different than a standard business type pose.  If you want your business to stand out these days, I think you have to do something a little different!

Here are just a few more shots from the session.  I just loved Ric and Pamela’s chemistry so we shot a couple of fun poses too.

Love this one it is so very romantic!

Hope you all have a great week. Thanks for stopping by! J+D

Temecula Wine Country Engagement Photography | Mike+Maggie=Engaged

Recently we celebrated Mike and Maggie’s engagement with a little wine tasting and photos out in Temecula.  This was a little different engagement session as the two just wanted to spend the day together and take some moments as we went along.

Maggie and I actually go way back.  We went to the same high school in State College, PA but she was a few years behind me, so we didn’t actually meet until college.  We both worked as bank tellers during our days at Penn State and then we lost touch after I had moved away.  After all these years, Maggie and I reconnected on Facebook…imagine that!  Then I found out she lived out here in California too and was only about a half hour away from where we lived.  I was totally excited because it was a familiar face from back home.

It has been so great to catch up with each others lives!  One of the best things to hear was that Maggie was engaged to a great guy and planning their wedding.  So, not only did I find an old friend, but we get to shoot her wedding. We are so excited to share in this fabulous day with them.  Until then, we have some great moments of the two on our day in Temecula.

So, our day started out at Ponte Winery where we had a fabulous lunch in which I tried my first cooked mussel.  That was an adventure for me!  We then stopped at Monte de Oro Winery which is a new winery out there that is just gorgeous and they have some great wines!  Finally, we ended at one of my favorites, Leonesse Cellars where we took a few shots in the vines. All I have to say is… AMAZING!!!  Love, Wine and the Vines you can’t go wrong celebrating your love there for your wedding or engagement!

Congratulations to Mike and Maggie, we can’t wait to shoot your wedding!  Thanks for spending the day with us and sharing some fabulous moments with us.  Cheers to you both! J+D

I love Maggie’s expression in this one!

Voted a favorite by all of us!

Love in the Vines!

Dana Point Yacht Club Wedding | Mark+Jean=Married |

Happy Friday to all!  Our Chicago couple is back to share with you their I-Do’s in the beautiful Dana Point Harbor.  I still can’t believe that these two both lived only a short distance from each other in Chicago, but didn’t meet until they both moved out to Southern California.  The two were engaged in Dana Point, so they brought their wedding day celebration back to that special spot to share with all of their family and friends.  On a gorgeous Friday afternoon at the Dana Point Yacht Club  Mark and Jean were married.  Congratulations to you both!  Thank you so much for having us share your wedding day with you.  Have a fabulous weekend!  Cheers, J+D

Priscilla+Cooking=She’s Cookin | Orange County Photographer

A very Happy Monday to all of you!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, we sure did.   It started off with a relaxing Friday evening on the sofa in front of the TV.  Yes, sometimes you just have to chill and flip through the channels.  It was around 10pm that I stumbled across the movie Julie & Julia.  We had never seen it before, so we decided to watch it.  It was a cute story in which we were both fascinated by all the fabulous meals that were prepared.  Of course we loved Julia’s accent “Butter” everything is better with butter and lots of it!

The next day we had to go to Barnes and Noble and check out her book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”.  My first recipe to look up as I thumbed through the index was Beef Bourguignon otherwise known as Beef Stew with red wine, bacon, onions and mushrooms.   You had Jeff at “Bacon” so we decided to pick the book up and test our mad cooking skills.  It was a fabulous dish in which we paired with a Mouton Cadet Bordeaux…AMAZING!!!!

I have to say that it was fun to cook together.  Cooking is just another fine art that inspires me to be greater.  I just love when you can throw passions together, for us food, wine and photography.

It made me think of a recent session we did for my friend Priscilla.  She has an Orange County food blog in which she writes about her favorite recipes, restaurants and such.  It is a great blog and I was honored to share some recipes with her as well as do a portrait of her for her site.

Meet Priscilla, of She’s Cookin’!

Some of Priscilla’s favorite cookbooks in which she gets inspiration from.

I was intrigued by this book before I saw the movie and now I know why!

Along with taking a fabulous portrait of Priscilla, she made two fabulous dishes in which I got to taste as well as photograph to be featured on her blog.  The first are Grilled Lamb Kabobs, which were so colorful and just melted in my mouth!  The second was a Zucchini and Sun Dried Tomato Tart which was also fantastic.  The crust was so flaky and the tart was filled with such wonderful flavors including some cheesy goodness!  I love cheese, I think I am a mouse sometimes!

Well, with talk of all this food…I am hungry!  Thanks Priscilla for cooking for me and sharing your fabulous talent with us.  Feel free to stop by Shescookin’ for more fabulous recipes and food.  Also, thanks Julia for a fabulous cook book, we can’t wait to try more recipes.  Until next time!

Cheers, J+D

Beverly Hilton Wedding Event | Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

Recently  I photographed a wedding event at one of the most prestigious hotels in the Los Angeles area.  The Beverly Hilton is known for hosting many elite events, one in particular that you all may know of is the annual Golden Globe awards.  This hotel is also a fabulous venue for your wedding too.  On this particular night, our event was hosted up in The Stardust Room.  This is an intimate space to gather your guests for fabulous food, dancing and great ambiance.  The patio off the Stardust Room has almost a 360 degree view of Los Angeles.  Looking out you are literally feeling like you are on top of the world when you see the view of the city.  It was amazing!  We hope you enjoy the photos from this event.  There are some fabulous wedding vendors and ideas to check out for planning your wedding.  Have a wonderful week, J+D

Happy 4th of July!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to drop in and tell everyone to have a great 4th of July! Make sure you see some fireworks, and eat some BBQ!

Last night, Dana and I went on down to Fred Kelly stadium in Orange, for Orange’s annual 3rd of July celebration. I’m not really sure why they do it on the 3rd, but we’ve been going the past few years. It’s a fun time to hang out, hear some patriotic music and watch a pretty good fireworks show! I shot a few of the fireworks for fun. Here ya go!

Stay safe, and we’ll see ya next time!

J+D
