We’re Pregnant!!

This past August 25th Jeff and I celebrated 11 years of marriage together. We also found out that we have our first baby on the way.  Yes, The Sipper’s are pregnant!!! The pregnancy test came up positive on our trip to Hawaii last month, so this baby has already been to the beautiful island of Oahu.  🙂

With this news we wanted a little creative way to share our pregnancy announcement.  So, we headed over to Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch in Irvine and took our first family portrait today with our little pumpkin.

 

Our little pumpkin is due March 26, 2013.

We can’t wait for you to meet our little guy.

Yes, you read that correctly.  It’s a boy!

We are so excited.

Las Vegas Wedding of Phil + Julia | Mandalay Bay Hotel

Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married!  You are going to love Phil and Julia’s Vegas themed wedding at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.  These two are such a cute couple and we loved working with them as they said their I-do’s in Vegas, Baby!  The two were married in the Mandalay Bay Chapel and a reception followed in the Hospitality Suite of the hotel.  Julia and her girls rocked their Bettie Page wedding attire and the guys didn’t look half bad either.  Haha!

Hale Koa Hotel Wedding | Kristen+Justin = Married

We are so excited to share Justin and Kristen’s Hawaiian Wedding at the Hale Koa Hotel on Oahu.  The two took their vows by a stunning white gazebo backdrop in the Maile Garden, decorated with beads and tropical flowers.  The garden was full of plush tropical trees which made some perfect backdrop for wedding photos.  It was great to see all of their immediate family and friends make the trip to the island to witness this beautiful moment between the two.

I loved the Hawaiian traditions we saw for this wedding.  The ceremony started with a Conch Blowing right before the bride walked down the aisle.  The couple also included a Lei exchange between each other, as well as to all parents during the ceremony. Loved it!  A big congratulations to Justin and Kristen on your new marriage.  Enjoy the photos.

We loved photographing Phil and Julia.  Oh, and don’t forget Bebe, their dog.  She is here too!  Phil and Julia decided on an Urban look for their engagement portrait.  Julia is a designer and she likes the look of texture and architecture.  Turns out it fit the fun personalities of these two just perfectly.  You wouldn’t think that such a simple wall background would make such a sweet photo! Lots of cute moments to share of our friends.

Surf and Sand Laguna Beach Wedding | Scott+Heather

I first met Heather, about 6 years ago when we both worked at an interior design firm together.  Yes, there was a brief time after working in photo studios for about 10 years that I worked outside the photo field.  Crazy, huh? Shortly after being out of photo I realized I missed shooting immensely and we started our own company of Sipper Photography.   If it wasn’t for the photography bug that I caught during my senior year in high school, I probably would of been an interior designer.  I love color, fabrics and design!  The two actually have gone hand in hand for me over the years when Jeff and I worked for a company that did set photography for Home Depot.

Heather and I connected again this past year and I was excited to hear that she was engaged to such a wonderful man!  I admit, that I teared up when Scott mentioned how he loved looking into Heather’s beautiful blue eyes during his vows.  By now you all should know that I am a total sucker for weddings + love!!!

I am in love with the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach!  What a fabulous spot for an oceanfront wedding ceremony.  It is a beautiful property with so many photo ops… it’s a photographer’s dream!  I guess it was pretty dreamy for Scott and Heather too as they took their vows on the Ocean Terrace overlooking the beach.  I was in awe the whole day to work with this fantastic couple on these grounds.  They are so much in love as you will see in all of the great moments we have to share.

You will love all of the details of this wedding coming from a designer.  Wait until you see the succulent floral theme… absolutely stunning!  Congratulations to Scott+Heather… to a wonderful life together.  Looking forward to drinks again soon at Splashes.

The ’57 Chevy Wedding Getaway Car

It only took a few short weeks for Steven and Britney to plan their beautiful backyard wedding in Chino Hills.  Though this was going to be the happiest day of their lives, it had to be planned quickly because Steven’s mom is very sick with cancer.  It meant the world to the couple that Steven’s mom see them get married.  After an engagement proposal on Mother’s Day, the date was set for June 3rd.   Steven’s sister Brenda, who Jeff was friends with from years ago contacted us about her brother’s wedding photography.  When we heard of the circumstances, we didn’t hesitate to accommodate the two as soon as we could.  We all met for Happy Hour the evening we heard that they set their date.   We loved the couple. Steven and Britney are absolutely adorable and we couldn’t wait to shoot with them.  Knowing their situation only made us realize what we do is important.  It is not only about documenting the day, but these are the moments you will have for the rest of your lives.

It was a gorgeous day!  The love we captured of these two is sweet and you are going to LOVE the 57′ Chevy Getaway Car!  Thanks to Steven’s dad for letting us use it for photos.  Congrats to Steve+Britney!
