The Holidays and the Andersen Family

I love the holiday season! The music, the lights, stockings and a tree. Last night Jeff & I got our Christmas tree, one of my favorite things to do is decorate for Christmas. I love the tree!!! When I was growing up, my mom used buy my sisters and I an ornament every year. She wanted us to have them when we had trees of our own. So, I have several favorites including my little bear with the camera around his neck. She bought this for me when I first started to do photography. Family, friends and memories…tis the season.

Speaking of friends, here is one of our favorite families Sean, Jessica, Foster and their little girl to be. We met up with them for a little holiday family portrait. It is always great to see these guys, Foster is the cutest he is such a little boy, always on the go and very curious.

Paul, Polly, Ellie & Family

Happy Weekend to everyone! Jeff and I have been on the go this last month. One of our several trips was to visit Jeff’s cousin & family in San Diego where we took this portrait session. This session was taken at Balboa Park in San Diego on the one Sunday where the rain followed us all the way down the freeway as we drove down south. We arrived at the park with drizzle but we started with Paul, Polly & Ellie in hopes it would clear up since Polly had coordinated the rest of her family to take photos as well. Our sunny California weather pulled through and so we had a great session.

Thanks to the Sipper, Colletto, and Finch families, you all did magnificent…all 7 kids included (twins too)!

J+D in Wine Country

Well Jeff & I have been very busy blogging all of our wonderful portrait sessions lately, but we promised to share with you our travels as well. You know, something to get to know the real us, how we interact with each other and what we like to do. Well, here are two of our favorite things in this blog, travel & wine.

We decided to take last weekend off and just go spend some time with each other. We took a road trip up the 101 north to Solvang and the surrounding wine country. We spent the weekend wine tasting, talking to people, and taking pictures. If you are ever up in the Solvang area, check out The Wine Valley Inn and Cottages, that is where we stayed, our cottage was huge with a fire place included ( I miss having a fireplace at home). This is just one of the boutique hotels owned by Broughton Hospitality which are great places to stay!

Joe, Janet & The Family…Dogs Included!

Hey Hey-

We have been a roll with our family portraits the last few months. So far our families reach all the way to Arizona. The word is out, if Sipper Photography is in your area then you must do a session with them. Well, at least that is what my sister Gloria pimped to her friends & co-workers on our last trip to the AZ.

This is her friend Janet, her husband Joe and their kids with the dogs included. They were a great family and will have a great photo for their holiday cards this year. Thanks to all of you!

Gloria & Jeremiah

Happy Weekend to everyone! It was a rare Saturday for Jeff and I, it was a first in weeks that we didn’t have to work! I must feel guilty because here I am blogging. It is ok though because this session is near and dear to me. This happy couple is my sister Gloria and her boyfriend Jeremiah. We were out visiting them last weekend and shot their portrait in downtown Chandler, AZ. This was such a fun area with cute shops, restaurants and amazing photo ops!

We enjoyed photographing Gloria & Jeremiah, they are such a fun couple and they got along so well. I love how Jeremiah always teases Gloria…who does that remind me of??? Oh, yes my hubby Jeff always teasing me! I hear they tease you because they like you.

Gloria & Jeremiah have been dating for a year, they went to a Halloween party together last year, then were officially dating on November 3rd. So, here is our early gift to you both, a “dating anniversary” photo celebration.

Jun, Grace & Little Miss Lauren

Hello to all…

Tomorrow is Friday! Hope everyone has a good one. We are heading out to Chandler, AZ for the weekend. My mom & sisters live out there and we will be shooting a few family sessions. So, we will have a little bit of work and a visit with the family. I anticipate some desert scenery portraits in our future here at the blog.

So, recently we shot this gorgeous little family. I absolutely love Little Lauren, she is 2 (most would think ahhh terrible two’s, but at least for the 1 1/2 hours we were together she was marvelous). She was absolutely precious on our quest for Peter Rabbit in the park. Grace coaxed her a bit to look at the camera by telling her to look at “Tita Dana”, I love it I always end up being everyone’s favorite Aunt Dana. Can you tell that the kids just melt my heart away?

Have I mentioned to any of you lately, that I really love what I do and to top it off I get to work with my hubby! It is J+D all the way baby!

The Collins Sisters and Ant too! Orange County Family Photography

This one’s for you Amber girl! This is her second blog at Sipper Photography. Here is Amber, Jessica & Holly…the Collins sisters. Amber is the oldest of 3 girls, just like me! A big “HELLO” goes out to my two sisters…Gloria & Cindy….see ya this weekend girls. We are heading out to Arizona on Friday to shoot 3 sittings my sister Gloria scheduled with some of her friends & co-workers. Stay tuned for those sittings next week.

We took this portrait at the Fullerton Arboretum for their mom’s birthday. Of course it wasn’t just the girls, our model Anthony, made a cameo and was in several shots as well. Everyone did a great job and their mom is going to love her gift of having all of her girls & her grandson in one photo. Thanks to all the ladies and Anthony, everyone did a great job.

Meg & Jeff’s Engagement Session Wedding Photography Orange County

Congratulations to Meg & Jeff on their recent engagement. A proposal in Laguna Beach as the sun was setting is where Meg said YES! The ring is beautiful and this couple is looking forward to a wedding next October. We were honored to share such a special occasion with these two as we shot their engagement photos.

Mutual friends introduced us to Meg & Jeff, but ironically my hubby Jeff had worked with Fiance Jeff before at Swell a few years ago. Things really do come around full circle, it is amazing. We are so happy for them, they are fun and in love…I am such a sucker for that, it’s the “sap” in me.

We headed back to the beach for their engagement session at Aliso Creek. Surprisingly, it was a gorgeous late afternoon for the two, all we did was fight the Santa Ana winds last weekend. The wind Gods were very gracious though and gave us our 2 hours to have a blast. The two walked, laughed, splashed and had an amazing time.

Thanks again to Meg & Jeff, it truly was a pleasure sharing this special time with you both.

The Yantorn Family

Happy Sunday! Well, I think Fall is officially here. The air is crisp and the leaves are falling…everyday I have to sweep the porch! I guess that is fine though because soon I can get out my scarves and bundle up a bit. I lived in Pennsylvania for 11 years, yes I am a Nittany Lion, go PSU. Back east, it gets chilly right after Labor Day…all the public pools close and we are done with summer and the jackets go on. It amazes me that over the next few months we can still head down to the beach and take pictures. I love it!!!!

Here is a session of a wonderful family, the Yantorn’s who met us down at the beach last week for there family portrait. A big warm thanks goes out to John, Pamela, Jennifer, Brandy, Hayley, Cody & baby Sage (she is soooooo cute). All of you did a great job.

Photos, Hair & Make-up…J+D Orange County Wedding & Family Photographers

Hello Friends-

Recently, I added a new photo album to our Facebook & Myspace called “Website Photo Shoot of J+D”. Jeff & I took these photos of each other in Downtown Orange… how did we get the ones of us together, you ask? Tripod, self timer and Jeff running back and forth a lot!

The shoot was a great success, you can see the final product at the J+D section at our website.

Also, there were some goofy out takes posted at our blog on October 1st.

A special thanks goes out to Kylee House, a good friend of mine who did my hair & make up for the shoot.
