We are so excited to share this 1960’s inspired engagement session of Lawrence and Amanda that we shot at The Dresden in Los Angeles. The idea for this shoot sparked from an old photo of Amanda’s grandparents that she shared with me. It was a very basic shot of the two sitting at a table in a restaurant back in the day with cocktails in hand. We wanted that old Hollywood type theme for these two and what better place to shoot then the well known restaurant and lounge at The Dresden. Some of you may recognize this place as it was featured in the movie Swingers. It has such a cool vibe with the low light, high back tufted cream booths and awesome lounge areas. We started the shoot inside The Dresden restaurant where we did a series of photos of the couple sitting in the booths. We then did some cool black and white photos of them in the lounge area. Finally, we ventured outside for a few shots in front of the restaurant and at a nearby news stand. Great stuff! Ultimately what made this shoot such a success was our couple who really got into character with the 1960’s attire and just had fun with their engagement session.
Congratulations to Lawrence and Amanda on their engagement. It was so great to do this shoot and we can’t wait to capture your wedding day as well in October at the San Diego Maritime Museum. That should be another fun venue to capture some moments.
Cheers to you both!
