Here are our favorite photos from Mike and Stacy’s engagement session in Laguna Beach. Mike popped the question here at this beach, so we thought it would be the perfect location for them to do their engagement photos. These two really wanted to do something fun and casual for their portrait as it fits their personality. They love the beach!! Mike likes to surf so we incorporated his surfboard into a few shots. We loved working with this couple. Congrats to Mike and Stacy!

Wow! 2012 is turning out to be a great year for weddings at Sipper Photography, but also with our own families. In March, my little sister Cindy got married to Greg in Arizona (here is their wedding blog in case you missed them)! This August, Jeff’s cousin, Kristen (she is my cousin too, through a lovely thing called marriage) will be exchanging vows with her fabulous fiance, Justin, in Oahu, Hawaii. We are looking forward to their big day. Hawaii Baby… Alohaaaaaaaa!!!!!!
With all of these family weddings, comes family celebrations. Today we are having a bridal shower for our bride to be, Kristen. So, I am ready to bring the party on!!! In honor of their day, I thought it would be nice to share a few photos from Justin and Kristen’s engagement session we did out in the Temecula Wine Country. Happy Shower Day, Kristen! Today we have Finn’s first birthday to share with you! This was such a fun party and a great idea for a first birthday with the “Vintage Surfer Boy” theme. This little guy is so cute as you will see in the portraits of our guest of honor. Look at those eyes!!!
You will love all of the details for decor and party favors. Finn’s mom, Jessica put her heart and soul into planning this party and it turned out amazing. We were so happy to share this day with Finn and his family. It was a beautiful day at that, with sunny skies and warm weather in Laguna Beach. Be sure to check out the shot of Finn’s Surf Report…such a cute idea! Jeff and I received our first sunburn of the year that day, but it was totally worth it as we had a great shoot celebrating Finn’s first birthday.

When Jack and Jessica told us of their wedding at the Newport Beach Tennis Club we were so excited to photograph them. The couple had all of their little details to go with their Tennis Club themed wedding. I loved the color scheme of Black, White and Yellow and the touch of Gray with the guys’ suits!! The couple actually plays tennis together as well as with Jessica’s mom and dad, who play tennis daily at the club. This venue made for a beautiful wedding spot and we loved working with the two and their families. Jack and Jessica were a very fun-loving couple as you will see in all of the moments we captured of their wedding day.
We will play a game of tennis with these two any day… we loved working with them! A special thanks for Jack and Jessica for sharing their special day with us.

This is a fun post! Recently, my friend Angie referred me to her friend Melissa who has a daughter who just turned a year old. I got to do Emma’s one year portrait as well as a cake smash of eating her first birthday cake. This little ladies birthday party theme was “pink lemonade”…just absolutely adorable!!! You will love all of the details…cute, cute, cute!!! Emma’s dress with the lemons, her yellow flower head band, the pink lemonade cake, pink birthday hat and the yellow highchair we shot her in as she did her cake smash. Her mom and I had such a fun time collaborating on ideas for the shoot. Here she is…Miss Emma turns one and is having fun!

Southern California is a beautiful destination for a wedding. I was once only a visitor to Orange County, California until 13 years ago when I moved here from back east. My family and I visited Laguna Beach for many summers and I always wanted to move here. I dreamed of having an oceanfront wedding here someday and so I did in August 2001 to my hubby Jeff. For many Orange County makes a great vacation destination and for some it even becomes the perfect location for their wedding as it was for Ben and Samantha. Some of my favorite Orange County coastal wedding destinations are in Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar (which is where Jeff and I were married), Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente.
Samantha had shared with me that her family visited San Clemente three times over the past several years and they love it. The couple hails from Calgary and were so excited to get married on the beach near San Clemente Pier. It was a gorgeous April day at the beach when I met up with Ben and Samantha! Sam mentioned that when they left Canada, they were expecting a snow fall, but it was almost 70 degrees on their wedding day! This is one of the reasons why I wanted to move here as it is April and we have some days where we can actually be hanging out at the beach already. 🙂
We loved working with these two…they were so happy to be married and had some very loving moments. A big congratulations to Ben and Samantha…cheers to you both! J+D

Jeff and I love to shoot weddings! We get to share a very special time with our couples as they start their journey together to the “Happily Ever After”. The best part is we get to work together and a lot of the time it really doesn’t feel like work to us. I feel grateful to be able to work with my hubby, doing something we love…photography!!
