This was a business portrait we shot of Jim Miller at Coffee Importers for a testimonial ad for Big Train Beverage company. We loved working with Jim, he was such a nice guy. He has a great shop in the Dana Point Harbor if you are in the area and want some coffee or a Chai drink while you enjoy the view of the Harbor. Cheers, J+D
Here is a Fall Family Portrait we recently did. I love this time of the year when all of the leaves have turned and they start falling to the ground. Yesterday, I went on a walk with my two nieces and Emmi, who is almost 3 years old was having a ball walking in the leaves. We swished through the leaves and listened to them crunch. She then picked up armfuls of the leaves and threw them up in the air. It was so cute!
Here is Rafael, Dominic and Kristin in the park. Dominic had just turned a year old so not only did we do this beautiful Fall Family Portrait, but also a few shots of Dominic. Happy Friday to all. Enjoy the photos! J+D

Well the holiday season is in full swing. Anybody done with their holiday shopping yet? I have barely started. The only gifts I have bought so far are for my nieces. It is so fun to shop for little girls, I just love being Auntie Bah Bah!!! Not sure about the rest of the family gifts, but at least I am off to a great start.
We have been busy finishing up our weddings for this year and now holiday portraits are the focus. I love sharing family moments with my clients each year. It amazes me how time flies as I see the kids grow another year older. This part of my job is incredible as I never know what I am going to get when it comes to taking photos of children. Yes, some days it is a lot of work, but a gratifying job at that. I have learned over the years that the perfect photo of a child isn’t the one of them just looking at the camera and smiling. They are the ones filled with moments. A kiss, a walk, holding hands, a smirk, curiosity, being a ham, a look at the new baby in the family, trying to hold the new baby in the family. These things happen and it is my job to capture that. All of these moments convey the age and what personality your little one has at that time in their life. Some kids may change over the years. Others may display their personality in their childhood photo that stays with them for a lifetime. Whatever the moment is, you can hold onto it for the rest of your life!
This year we had the opportunity to shoot one of our favorite families at The Mission in San Juan Capistrano! Sean and Jessica are friends of ours and we have been taking their family photos for a few years now. This year they have a new addition, daughter Norah who is 6 months. Their son Foster started school at The Mission. It has been a big year for their family, so we needed a special spot. Indeed The Mission was a spectacular place to do their family photos this year. I just loved it! I was like a kid in a candy shop. The walls, fountains, stone, archways…just amazing. I think everyone had a great time at The Mission as well as a nice shot for their holiday card this year.
Thanks Andersen Family!

Foster and Josie, these two are so adorable!

Oh Happy Day! Today we have the wedding of Michael and Anne at the Hotel Seven4One in Laguna Beach. It sure was a happy day for the two and we were excited to share this special time with them. We have known Michael for several years now as Jeff works with him at Swell. Over the years the guys have become friends and I only briefly met Anne a couple of times. We were thrilled that they asked us to shoot their wedding and I was excited to have the opportunity to get to know Anne a little better while working through her wedding process. We loved working with them, their family and the Hotel Seven4One. The couple has been together for several years and have a 3 year old son, Mason. Anne was worried Mason wouldn’t last all day in his tuxedo, but once he saw his dad all dressed up, it was all good! Though Mason fell asleep in the middle of the day, we have a funny photo of that to share later. Their day was perfect!
Here is their story, starting with their first look we did of them in front of the Hotel Seven4One. Loved the moment and we hope you do too. Congratulations again, to Michael and Anne on your marriage. All the best to you and your little family.
Cheers+Love to you both!

It is on days like this one that we love what we do! It was a gorgeous day for a Laguna Beach Wedding as Chris and Saiko said their I-do’s in front of their family and friends at Laguna Village. The two are a great couple to work with and they chose such a fabulous wedding location at Laguna Village to have their oceanfront wedding. Here are some moments from their wedding day that we just had to share.

Just after the ceremony we took the bride and groom with their wedding party down to the beach for a little photo shoot before sunset. Here are a few shots that we captured.

Sometimes you just have to kick off your shoes and have a little fun!!!
Here Saiko was brushing the sand off her feet after our shoot at the beach. This was exactly how the moment happened…Love it!

First Dance
While Chris and Saiko were dancing I looked over to my hubby Jeff as we realized they were dancing to our wedding song. Needless to say the dance shots were captured with a little tear in the eye for me as I am such a sap!
10 years ago we too danced to Savage Garden ” I knew I loved You”

Today we have a very special couple to share with you. Recently, my friend Carolyn, who is a minister for So Cal Officiant referred us to Stevie and Jaime as they needed a photographer for their private wedding ceremony at the Los Angeles County Arboretum. It was a Wednesday morning that I got the call from Carolyn letting me know she gave the couple our information for their ceremony on Sunday. Short notice I thought, but when I spoke to Stevie on that Friday morning he mentioned he was a touring musician and had a break in his schedule, so they wanted to have their wedding ceremony. Turns out that Stevie is the lead guitarist for the band Buckcherry and he wanted us to shoot his wedding.
We love the small, intimate wedding ceremonies and this truly was an amazing one to be a part of. Jeff and I signed the couple’s marriage license as we not only photographed their vows, but were their official witnesses to them.
Carolyn performed a fabulous ceremony for the couple, I love, love, love her. She has such a passion for performing weddings! It truly was a pleasure to work with her. If you are a bride or groom in the Orange County or Los Angeles area and are looking for an officiant-minister for your wedding ceremony, please contact Carolyn.
After the wedding ceremony we had the opportunity to capture some awesome moments between Stevie and Jamie. I can truly say that they rocked it! Afterwards we had lunch with the couple and since then even had the opportunity to see Stevie perform with Buckcherry as they played recently at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine.
Thanks so much Stevie and Jamie for sharing this special day with us.
All the best to you both!

Stevie is also a photographer. He shoots a lot when he is on tour of the band, people and places he goes.
We thought this was a fun shot of him photographing his bride-to-be.

Mr.+Mrs… great moment!
Hope everyone is having a great Friday. We are out in Arizona shooting a few family portraits as well as visiting with my family. Tomorrow we will also be celebrating a family moment for the engagement of my little sister Cindy. Her and her fiance Greg will be having their wedding in March 2012, so excited for them!
We recently shared another fabulous moment with our friends Kylee and Franjo as they just welcomed there new little one Bradley Chase to the world on Sept. 20th. We had the opportunity to photograph Bradley at 2 weeks old and wanted to share a few of his newborn baby photos. A big congratulations to Kylee and Franjo on their new addition to the family. We look forward to watching Bradley grow! 🙂
Cheers+Love to all,

I really can’t believe how fast the summer went by this year. When did it become October already? We have had a busy few months with traveling, starting with our trip to Pennsylvania this summer to shoot my friend Melissa’s wedding. We have been friends since high school and it was such a honor to make it back this year for her wedding and do her photography. On that trip we also got to go to New York City. The visit was short but sweet to Manhattan, but somehow got to see quite a few things. I thank Jeff’s mad tour guide skills with the help of Google maps! We hope to go back again soon for a longer period of time because there is just so much to see in the big city.
Our travels continued in August when we went to Las Vegas to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary! We were so excited to share this wonderful milestone in our life together. We had a great dinner at Emeril’s Fish House Restaurant in the MGM Hotel followed by the Blue Man Group show. Ironically, at the Blue Man Group a couple got engaged in the row right in front us before the show. It was definitely a weekend for love!
Recently, we returned to one of our favorite spots which is New Orleans. We spent almost a week there relaxing, listening to music and having great food! Since our return this week we have been playing some catching up. We have been so busy in between our travels, but are enjoying all that we do.
So, I share with you our dear friends wedding Melissa and Damien, it was a great trip back east to share in this fabulous celebration. It was so nice to visit my home town and see old friends. So, without further a do…congratulations to Melissa and Damien. Thanks for having us share this special day with you!
Cheers+Love,

We loved shooting at Spring Creek Park in State College. This old covered bridge was so cool and something totally different then what we shoot at our Orange County Weddings
Such a fun photo of our Groom, Damien looking out one of the window openings in the covered bridge!
Love this one in the open field with the mountain and trees in the background! I miss all of the green landscape in Pennsylvania and the change of seasons. One thing I don’t miss is all of the snow!

Here we are… The Sipper’s! We had to get a shot of us with the view at Mt. Nittany Inn behind us!
Chris and Saiko recently did an engagement session with us near the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. When they contacted us to do their engagement photos they requested a secluded beach location and we found the perfect spots. As I began to shoot with the couple we instantly clicked. I had asked Saiko how to pronounce her name as I wanted to make sure I was saying it right and she said “Psycho” like crazy. I had to laugh as she shook her head while explaining it to me. She was so cute and definitely very fun! After only a few shots, the both of them felt so comfortable and really started to get in the moment and show their love. A big thank you goes out to Chris and Saiko for all of their loving moments. We will be sharing their wedding with you soon too, so stay tuned!
Cheers and Love,
J+D
