Weekly Wednesday Blog

Hey kids!

Hope ya’ll had a great 3 day weekend (for those of you here in the US)!  Ours was pretty busy as Dana’s family came out from Arizona to visit, and we ran around a bit, BBQ’ed up at the pool, and generally relaxed.  How we managed to squeeze 7 people, plus my dog into our 2 bedroom condo is beyond me.  Of course, we had a Xmas party a couple of years ago, and I think there were about 22 people here!

We attempted to head out to Newport Beach on 4th of July, but even by noon, the road heading to the pier was jammed, and there was no parking to be had.  So we opted to head back to Costa Mesa to our favorite little bar, The Goat Hill Tavern. I’ve been here dozens of times, and ever time I go back, they’ve added more junk to the walls, the ceilings, where ever they can hang stuff.  It really does look like someone’s basement exploded with all the funkiness they have there.  The picture below should tell you all you need to know, and really, that’s not even a tenth of it!  But with 141 beers on tap, and Anaheim Angel baseball players that hang out thee after games it’s always a good time!

Went out for a bike ride Tuesday night.  Good to be back out there.  It was pretty breezy most of the way, but I managed to get in about 22 miles before dark!

No real plans for the weekend yet.  Dana’s Mom is here with us all week, and I think she flies home on Saturday.

That’s all I got for now.  Check back in next week, and be sure to tell all your friends about us!  And now on to some pics from last week, and us at the Goat…

Weekly Wednesday Blog…

Hey everyone!

As you can tell, we still haven’t come up with a catchy name for the weekly blog, so, for now, ‘Weekly Wednesday” will have to do.

Once again, Dana and I had a fairly easy going weekend.  I spent Saturday morning out on my bike, trying to get back into riding shape.  32 miles, and my legs were dying!  Only about 200 miles so far this year.  Pretty low compared to the past few years where I would have between 1200 and 1500 miles by now.  Still trying to decide if i’m going to ride in this years MS-150 bike ride, as I have the past two years.  A few things are factoring in this decision, that maybe i’ll go into later on, once I figure out what i’m going to do.

After getting back from the ride, we ran errands.  The eye doctor, Linens and Things, and then decided to beat the heat, and go to the movies and see “Wanted”.  It was a fun movie, great action, decent story, plus our pal, Angelina (who we sat next to at dinner last December, with Brad and their daughter, Shiloh), how could you really go wrong?!

Sunday was more of the same, just took it easy.  We did decide to upgrade our desktop computer, and found a great deal on a smokin’ machine at Circuit City.  I spent the afternoon getting it all dialed in.  Wow… this machine is extremely fast, and with 6gb of RAM in it, I can switch between all my programs in no time at all!

This weekend, Dana’s family is riding into town from Arizona.  Not sure of the plans, other then to have a good time, and maybe go get some more BBQ!

Since we laid low this past weekend, we really didn’t pull the camera out, so I will leave you with a shot from last December when we were in New Orleans.  I love digging through old pics, and seeing new things.

enjoy!

Mid-week update…

Hey everyone!

Dana and I have been talking about trying to make one day a week a regular blogging day.  Right now, we are thinking of either Tuesday or Wednesday.  Since I didn’t get around to it yesterday, this week’s will be Wednesday!

We need a catchy name for our update, ya know… make it sound good! Any suggestions would be great!

So, you ask, “What’s new with Jeff and Dana?”  Well, not a ton right now.  We spent last weekend in Arizona, seeing Dana’s mom and sisters.  Had some good BBQ at Joe’s BBQ in Gilbert, some good adult beverages at Four Peaks Brewery, and generally hung out.  Well, at least I did.  Dana matted and framed some of our pictures, and hung them in her Mom’s new house.  I gotta say, she did a great job, and the house looks nearly completed now!  Surprisingly, even though we brought the camera, I think Dana was too busy to even pull it out of the bag!

We are also in the beginning stages of redesigning the site again.  The Blog here is fairly new, and still needs some tweaking, so that’s coming along smooth.  It seems every time we re-do the site, we see other sites that we like, and would love to incorporate a few ideas.  Hopefully we’ll have a new one up by the end of July.

Should be a good weekend coming up.  No real plans.  Hopefully, if it is not blazing hot out, I’ll get out for a bike ride.  Other than that, we might get out and test (play around) with one of the new cameras and lenses we just bought.  It just arrived on Monday, and other than playing around a bit in the house, we haven’t had the time to really see wha it can do!  For now, I’ll leave you with this picture I shot this morning while making an espresso before heading out the door.  Let us know what ya think!

It’s Bolognese time!

Hey everyone!

Thanks again for checking out the blog. We are in the process of reconfiguring the blog to give you bigger, sexier pictures to check out, so bear with us another week or so, until all the detail work gets ironed out! There are also going to be some site design changes hopefully in the next month… so be on the lookout! 🙂

Lately, I’ve been playing around with food photography. Nothing too exciting, no elaborate setups or anything, just cooking something which looks good, and hopefully tastes the same. Most times it’s pretty good, sometimes… not so much! (Don’t ask about the stir fry we made the other night… no bueno!). Tonight’s exciting meal was a Turkey Rigatoni Bolognese. It’s one of our fave meals to cook, and pretty simple to cook. You know you want some!! -Jeff
