Holiday Portrait Series | Woody+Tara+Greyson+Caroline=Family

Day 4 of the holiday portrait series has almost gotten away from me, but there is still time.  I promised you a family portrait  blog a day until Christmas, so here is today’s featured family.   On a visit to Chandler, Arizona to see my family we met and did a session with Woody (he is the 2nd guy that I have met with the name Woody), Tara, Greyson and Caroline. It was so great to meet you all.  Thanks for hanging out with us and sharing a few moments.  Cheers+Love, J+D

Holiday Portrait Series | Tony+Jeanette+Anthony=Family

Day 3 of our Holiday Portrait Series features Tony, Jeanette and Anthony.  We have been long time friends with Tony and Jeanette, in fact Jeff has known Tony since they were kids.  Now these kids have kids!  Crazy how time flies.  We just love Anthony and it has been fun to watch him grow.  At 3 years old, he is a ball full of energy and just as cute as can be.  We had fun in the park shooting their holiday portraits…we even took a ride on the rain at Irvine Park for a couple pics!  Happy Holidays to our dear friends!  Thank you for sharing your family with us.  Cheers+Love, J+D

Holiday Portait Series | Jonson+Samantha+Triplets = Family

Day 2 of our Holiday Portrait Series features Jonson and Samantha with their beautiful triplets.  Yes, I photographed triplets…Sophia, August and Tatiana. We have photographed them on several occasions over the past two years.  These kids are so cute and I love that they all have a different personality.  This year, they are walking so it was a challenge to get three kids to sit still at the same time.   Though it sometimes felt like all of us were just chasing them around the fountain in the Old Town Orange Plaza, we had fun with the session.  Okay, I also listened to my mom’s voice in my head saying “Patience is a Virtue”.  Well, with a little patience, my love for children and photography,  I was able to achieve some fantastic moments of this family.  Cheers+Love, J+D

I love this one…the kids playing by the fountain!

Holiday Portrait Series | Matt+Lorraine+Lincoln+Victoria=Family

With Christmas coming this Saturday, I am feeling the holiday spirit.  It has been the busy time of year when we get to meet many fabulous families to do their holiday family portraits.  We have done family portrait sessions in Orange County, The Bay Area and Chandler, AZ this year.  I thought it would be nice to share a family portrait a day until Christmas!  I love family moments and this time of the year is a great time to share them.  Today we have featured Matt, Lorraine, Lincoln and Victoria which was one of the families I photographed in the Bay Area in Danville, CA. We had an awesome session, I loved the park location we chose! The kids were fantastic, though mom and dad were a little nervous they wouldn’t cooperate.  I guess I have a magic touch!  Enjoy the photos…Cheers+Love this holiday!  J+D

Singing in the Rain | San Francisco

It is a very rainy Sunday afternoon here in Orange County.  I have used the day to relax and be cozy at home.  Jeff is watching an old movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” while I go through our own family moments and post a few photos.  The holidays are a hectic time, but so far we have enjoyed Thanksgiving with the family and a trip to the Bay Area.  We love San Francisco!  Jeff lived up there while attending the Academy of Art to study photography, so he always loves to go an visit the old hood.   It was a rainy day in the city, much like today, but we found ourselves all over the place.  It was very festive in Union Square with the huge Christmas Tree and all of the Macy’s decorations.  We also visited the SFMOMA to see the Cartier-Bresson exhibit. I truly was inspired and it reminded me of why I became a photographer.  Moments in your life, is what it is about and that is why I chose this career.

As most of you know, Jeff and I are always taking photos when we travel.  I thought this one would be appropriate today with all of this rain!  This is a shot Jeff took of me in the city of San Francisco at night in the rain.  Some would say it is my “Singing in the Rain” portrait.  I love it!  Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Happy Holiday! J+D

Serra Plaza | New Orange County Wedding Venue in San Juan Capistrano

You are going to love Serra Plaza! If you are a bride still looking for a wedding venue in Orange County, then you must go and check out Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

I was recently invited to attend a wedding vendor brunch at Serra Plaza and it was MARVELOUS! I had the opportunity to tour the new venue and was amazed at how beautiful this plaza was. It is just the perfect backdrop for sharing your vows. The bride can walk across the beautiful hallway for all the guests to see, then stroll down the staircase to her groom.

“Watch the Walk”

“Staircase”

Serra Plaza has many gorgeous amenities to accommodate you and your guests. I loved the old church pews around the fountain (you can have chairs if you want, but the pews make it). Oh and don’t forget the outdoor stone fireplace for cocktail hour. There is also going to be a new bridal suite for you, so you can get ready in style!!!

Serra Plaza is located near the Historic Los Rios District and very close to The Mission San Juan Capistrano. As a wedding photographer in Orange County, I can tell you that this is a wonderful area for your wedding photography. So many photo ops!!

I LOVE WEDDINGS!  Well, so do we!
This was our charger plate display for brunch, so cute!

Happy Birthday to My Mom!

Well the Thanksgiving Holiday is almost upon us and as I sit here on the sofa next to the most wonderful man in the world….I am thankful!  Not just for Jeff, but all of my family.  A special thanks to my mom, who is always there for us.  Today is her 65th birthday and I just wanted to wish her all the best today & always.  I admire this woman and all of her strength.  I hope to always have that strength in me, if only half as much as she has.  You are a remarkable woman, Mom.  Thank you for all that you do.  Happy Birthday and cheers to you!  Love, J+D

Anaheim White House Wedding | Mike+Maggie=Married

Congratulations to Mike and Maggie on their marriage. We are so happy for the two of you as you begin your lives together. What a special day! We started off at the Hilton Anaheim where the couple was staying and getting ready.  Mike and Maggie decided to do a First Look near the hotel & convention center before the ceremony. Jeff and I love doing First Looks because it gives the couple a chance to have a moment just for the two of them as they see each other for the first time right before for the wedding. This moment is so full of surprise and love between them and we just love to capture that! A First Look allows the couple to feel a little more relaxed going into the ceremony. It also gives you another photo op for your wedding photography. Here is Mike and Maggie’s First Look!

Maggie looking stunning!

Mike was such a handsome & happy groom!

After a few photos with the bride and groom, we then brought out the wedding party party and did a few pre-ceremony shots with them.  Here were a couple of our favorites.

Maggie with her Flower Girl & Junior Bridesmaid…those girls were posing!  I loved all of their off white dresses.

The guys were rockin’ their Abbey Road pose!  Loved the chocolate brown tuxedos!

After all of the fun at the Hilton Anaheim we then headed off to the Anaheim White House for the ceremony and reception.  This was our first time photographing at this Orange County Wedding Venue.  The Anaheim White House turned out to be a beautiful back drop for Mike and Maggie to say their vows.
