Red Horse Barn | Huntington Beach Wedding Venue

Travis and Mimi were married at the Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach.  This is a great venue in Orange County if you are looking to have a rustic, western or vintage theme wedding.  Our couple did a western theme wedding.  Travis and Mimi also incorporated a Chinese tea ceremony and a few photos of Mimi in her Asian formal wear.   Our friends at An All Inclusive Event helped them put together this wonderful wedding.  Michael and Terilyn of An All Inclusive Event have an awesome team who are always a pleasure to work with.  We loved working with Travis and Mimi on this special day.  We hope you enjoy the photos!
Cheers + Love,

Crystal Cove Engagement Portrait | Mike + Shannon

Mike and Shannon are engaged!  We photographed this engagement portrait at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach.  I love it there.   You can enjoy a milkshake at the Shake Shack, take a stroll on the beach or have dinner at the Beachcomber.  Gosh, it makes a great date spot here in Orange County.

It was such a beautiful day for a beach portrait with a gorgeous sunset.  It was fun to capture these moment with Mike and Shannon as they are both so cute together.

After our shoot, Jeff and I enjoyed a Mai Tai at the Beachcomber.  They are so good!  It reminded me of being Hawaii even though we were home here in Orange County.  Thanks guys for a great shoot.
Cheers to you both!

1960′s Inspired Engagement Session at the Dresden in Los Angeles | Lawrence + Amanda

We are so excited to share this 1960′s inspired engagement session of Lawrence and Amanda that we shot at The Dresden in Los Angeles.  The idea for this shoot sparked from an old photo of Amanda’s grandparents that she shared with me.  It was a very basic shot of the two sitting at a table in a restaurant back in the day with cocktails in hand.  We wanted that old Hollywood type theme for these two and what better place to shoot then the well known restaurant and lounge at The Dresden.  Some of you may recognize this place as it was featured in the movie Swingers.  It has such a cool vibe with the low light, high back tufted cream booths and awesome lounge areas.  We started the shoot inside The Dresden restaurant where we did a series of photos of the couple sitting in the booths.  We then did some cool black and white photos of them in the lounge area.  Finally, we ventured outside for a few shots in front of the restaurant and at a nearby news stand.  Great stuff!  Ultimately what made this shoot such a success was our couple who really got into character with the 1960′s attire and just had fun with their engagement session.

Congratulations to Lawrence and Amanda on their engagement.  It was so great to do this shoot and we can’t wait to capture your wedding day as well in October at the San Diego Maritime Museum.  That should be another fun venue to capture some moments.

Cheers to you both!

Baby Gender Reveal Shoot | New Baby, New Crib

Here is a fun shoot.  We got to spend some time with this family and do a Baby Gender Reveal photo shoot as they are expecting their 4th child.  I met up with Jessica, our momma-to-be on the day she received the gender ultrasound from her doctor.  It was sealed in an envelope and handed off to me, so I could plan the shoot.  Gosh, I was trusted to be the only one to know if the baby was a boy or a girl.  What an honor!

For the shoot, I filled a box with balloons to represent the gender of the baby.  The family opened the box as I captured their reaction as the pink balloons floated out of the box and up into the sky.  “It’s a Girl”!!!!  The location for the shoot was in the front yard of the family’s new home here in Orange County which made for a perfect back drop.  New Baby, New Crib. :-)

A shot of the family before they open the box up which will reveal with balloons the gender of the newest addition to the family.

As they open the box, the pink balloons sail out.  It’s a girl!

A shot of the balloons as they fly away!

The 2 girls hold the “It’s a girl” banner.  They are excited to have another sister!

Jessica, the proud momma!

New Baby, New Crib!

This shot of the baby gender ultrasound in the mailbox is a great idea for a new home or change of address announcement!
As we all know these little ones take up a lot of space, so sometimes it is time to move up when we are expecting or the family is growing.
