Newport Beach Tennis Club Wedding | Orange County Couple Jack+Jessica = Married

When Jack and Jessica told us of their wedding at the Newport Beach Tennis Club we were so excited to photograph them. The couple had all of their little details to go with their Tennis Club themed wedding. I loved the color scheme of Black, White and Yellow and the touch of Gray with the guys’ suits!! The couple actually plays tennis together as well as with Jessica’s mom and dad, who play tennis daily at the club. This venue made for a beautiful wedding spot and we loved working with the two and their families. Jack and Jessica were a very fun-loving couple as you will see in all of the moments we captured of their wedding day.

We will play a game of tennis with these two any day… we loved working with them! A special thanks for Jack and Jessica for sharing their special day with us.

San Clemente Beach Destination Wedding | Ben+Samantha = Married

Southern California is a beautiful destination for a wedding. I was once only a visitor to Orange County, California until 13 years ago when I moved here from back east. My family and I visited Laguna Beach for many summers and I always wanted to move here. I dreamed of having an oceanfront wedding here someday and so I did in August 2001 to my hubby Jeff. For many Orange County makes a great vacation destination and for some it even becomes the perfect location for their wedding as it was for Ben and Samantha. Some of my favorite Orange County coastal wedding destinations are in Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar (which is where Jeff and I were married), Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente.

Samantha had shared with me that her family visited San Clemente three times over the past several years and they love it. The couple hails from Calgary and were so excited to get married on the beach near San Clemente Pier. It was a gorgeous April day at the beach when I met up with Ben and Samantha! Sam mentioned that when they left Canada, they were expecting a snow fall, but it was almost 70 degrees on their wedding day! This is one of the reasons why I wanted to move here as it is April and we have some days where we can actually be hanging out at the beach already.

We loved working with these two…they were so happy to be married and had some very loving moments. A big congratulations to Ben and Samantha…cheers to you both! J+D

Meet Shannon Smith, Owner and Esthetician of The Beauty Smith

Here you go ladies and gentlemen (yes, you guys can get a facial too)! Meet Shannon Smith, the owner of The Beauty Smith. Shannon is a California licensed Esthetician that is right here in Orange County. She currently, works at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel as well as her own location in Costa Mesa. I have known Shannon for a few years now and she has worked her magic with my skincare as she has done facials for me as well as recommended skincare products for my beauty regimen. I want my brides to check her out as she can help you prepare your skin for your big day! It is amazing how much having a facial enhances the application of your make-up for photos.

I had the pleasure of shooting a portrait of Shannon for her business. You have heard me talk about branding photos before and for Shannon, her business is about Bliss and Relaxation. So we took a relaxed approach for her portrait! She is just so pretty and I love how her photos turned out…and really this girl has great skin! Need I say more…

New Orleans Where Y’At Magazine: Wedding Article Feature

For those of you who know us, you know that we LOVE New Orleans! Both Jeff and I have traveled to NOLA on several occasions as we just love that city. We were just there in October eating some jambalaya and drinking hurricanes, as well as exploring the French Quarter. This trip we also took a ride out to the beautiful Oak Alley Plantation and saw many other fabulous plantations along the way. These are such great locations for Weddings in and around the New Orleans area. One of the hot spots for weddings this past October was in Jackson Square and in the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter. What a great back drop to say your I-do’s and do your wedding photography. Then there is nothing better than after the ceremony when the Treme Brass Band rolls up to start a second line for the couple as they dance and celebrate through the famous streets of the French Quarter including Bourbon Street! We actually joined a few second lines this time as we LOVE that New Orleans Jazz and of course LOVE anything weddings!

With our love for New Orleans and Weddings, one of our goal’s for 2012 is to get there for more weddings this year! With this goal in mind we were so excited to have been quoted in a recent magazine article about New Orleans Weddings. Where Y’At Magazine is a local New Orleans publication that recently featured an article about wedding trends in their January 2012 issue. The local writer, Tyler Lott who is a New Orleans native reached out to us as she wanted our perspective from what we see with wedding trends in Southern California and how they coincide with the trends in New Orleans.
