We are so excited to have photographed this fabulous Orange County Event venue at Hotel Irvine this weekend. It’s such a great spot to host just about any social or corporate event. For those of you planning a 2016 holiday party or your wedding this next year… you must check this venue out.   Newly refurbished is The Backyard which is a gorgeous lawn area for your outdoor party or ceremony.  For your reception or indoor events they offer several spaces for the most intimate event to the grandest occasion at The Pavilion or The Grand Ballroom.  The Pavilion which is featured below gives you the white tented look and sits right next to The Backyard lawn area.  With the modern look and decor of this venue, there are so many great spots for your photo ops.  One of our favorites is the lobby front desk area…the design is absolutely gorgeous.  With an exceptional staff, chef and catering department, your event will be incredible.  You can see photos here of all the amazing food we had including passed appetizers, a Mediterranean Cheese & Humus bar, and the Yellow Tail and Poke Stations.  It was such a fun evening.  We love, love, love this place!

It’s a new school year and you’re a Senior in High School.  Don’t forget to make some memories as this is your final year of high school.  Everyone has to get their traditional yearbook photo, but why not do some other fun shots that really show off your personality.  Here is a senior portrait of Jessica that we shot in Laguna Beach to celebrate her Senior High School graduation.  We did several shots of Jessica by herself then we also celebrated with her family with a few portraits of the group.  This is such an important time to document and celebrate your accomplishment.

Here is Jessica and her family!  Congrats on a new year to all of the 2015 graduating classes in Orange County, CA and beyond.

Whether it’s your senior year in High School or College, graduation is a time of fun we must cherish.  Sipper Photography can photograph your senior portrait or even shoot your graduation party or events throughout the year.  We would love to celebrate with you and your family.  Please call us at 714.348.0630 or email us at: dana@sipperphotography.com for further info.

Today we have Finn’s first birthday to share with you!  This was such a fun party and a great idea for a first birthday with the “Vintage Surfer Boy” theme.  This little guy is so cute as you will see in the portraits of our guest of honor.  Look at those eyes!!!

You will love all of the details for decor and party favors.  Finn’s mom, Jessica put her heart and soul into planning this party and it turned out amazing.  We were so happy to share this day with Finn and his family.  It was a beautiful day at that, with sunny skies and warm weather in Laguna Beach.  Be sure to check out the shot of Finn’s Surf Report…such a cute idea!  Jeff and I received our first sunburn of the year that day, but it was totally worth it as we had a great shoot celebrating Finn’s first birthday.

Cheers to you kid!
J+D

Bow Ties by Ties.com

Hey everyone!  Recently, we were contacted by the good people at Ties.com and were asked if we would like to check out a couple of their ties in exchange for blogging a bit about them.  In the past few years, as the wedding business has picked up for us, I’ve needed to step up my game as far my clothing, etc.  Dana and I end up at a lot of wedding industry mixers and other networking events where if you are not dressed up some, you look a bit out of place.  Having worked in the surf industry the past 12 years or so, I’ve been pretty accustomed to wearing shorts and T-shirts most days.  This doesn’t really fly when you are trying to impress potential clients.  The best part about Ties.com is that the ties are very affordable, they have a ton of different styles and the quality is great.

I decided to check out a bow tie, since I’ve never really worn one, other than at my High School Prom.  And that was a pre-tied style.  I have to say, after searching various websites and YouTube for about an hour, I finally found a video that taught me how to tie it.  It wasn’t as easy, or as hard as I thought it would be.  Just takes some practice to get it right!  Keep on the look out for another post down the line featuring the other tie they sent me!
