Ric+Pamela | Fun Couples in Business

Happy Monday!  A few portraits today of Ric and Pamela of La Palma Home Finder.  What can I say, we appreciate fellow couples in business as Jeff and I are a husband and wife photography team.  It is an amazing experience to work together and reach for a common goal, the success of your business.  We had such a fun time with these two.  They are great people who are fabulous to work with.

This was Ric and Pamela’s couple portrait used for their business! It is a fun shot that represents both of their personalities & their relationship as a couple.  I love that they picked something different than a standard business type pose.  If you want your business to stand out these days, I think you have to do something a little different!

Here are just a few more shots from the session.  I just loved Ric and Pamela’s chemistry so we shot a couple of fun poses too.

Love this one it is so very romantic!

Hope you all have a great week. Thanks for stopping by! J+D

Priscilla+Cooking=She’s Cookin | Orange County Photographer

A very Happy Monday to all of you!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, we sure did.   It started off with a relaxing Friday evening on the sofa in front of the TV.  Yes, sometimes you just have to chill and flip through the channels.  It was around 10pm that I stumbled across the movie Julie & Julia.  We had never seen it before, so we decided to watch it.  It was a cute story in which we were both fascinated by all the fabulous meals that were prepared.  Of course we loved Julia’s accent “Butter” everything is better with butter and lots of it!

The next day we had to go to Barnes and Noble and check out her book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”.  My first recipe to look up as I thumbed through the index was Beef Bourguignon otherwise known as Beef Stew with red wine, bacon, onions and mushrooms.   You had Jeff at “Bacon” so we decided to pick the book up and test our mad cooking skills.  It was a fabulous dish in which we paired with a Mouton Cadet Bordeaux…AMAZING!!!!

I have to say that it was fun to cook together.  Cooking is just another fine art that inspires me to be greater.  I just love when you can throw passions together, for us food, wine and photography.

It made me think of a recent session we did for my friend Priscilla.  She has an Orange County food blog in which she writes about her favorite recipes, restaurants and such.  It is a great blog and I was honored to share some recipes with her as well as do a portrait of her for her site.

Meet Priscilla, of She’s Cookin’!

Some of Priscilla’s favorite cookbooks in which she gets inspiration from.

I was intrigued by this book before I saw the movie and now I know why!

Along with taking a fabulous portrait of Priscilla, she made two fabulous dishes in which I got to taste as well as photograph to be featured on her blog.  The first are Grilled Lamb Kabobs, which were so colorful and just melted in my mouth!  The second was a Zucchini and Sun Dried Tomato Tart which was also fantastic.  The crust was so flaky and the tart was filled with such wonderful flavors including some cheesy goodness!  I love cheese, I think I am a mouse sometimes!

Well, with talk of all this food…I am hungry!  Thanks Priscilla for cooking for me and sharing your fabulous talent with us.  Feel free to stop by Shescookin’ for more fabulous recipes and food.  Also, thanks Julia for a fabulous cook book, we can’t wait to try more recipes.  Until next time!

Cheers, J+D

Meeting Tommy Lasorda | Orange County Event Photographer

Happy Friday everyone!  We hope you all have a fun Valentine’s holiday planned.  Jeff and I will be visiting Palm Springs this weekend for some work and then a little R&R!  We are so excited to shoot Jeff and Kacy’s wedding tomorrow at The Viceroy Hotel, this is our first wedding of the year and it is going to be fabulous.  Since we were staying over for the wedding, we decided to take an extra day to stay and celebrate Valentine’s Day and relax.  I can’t believe with all of the bad weather we have been having across the country, Palm Springs will be a beautiful 75 degrees for the wedding and almost 80 degrees for the rest of the weekend.  What to pack??? LOL  Whatever you are doing this weekend, in the snow or the warmth, remember to celebrate your loved ones!

Here is a little Friday Fun I thought I would share.  I recently had the opportunity to do a shoot for Argosy University and the Orange Chamber and met Baseball Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda, yes Mr. Dodger himself.  What an honor to shoot this event and hear Tommy speak.  That man loves baseball!  He reminded me of my dad, always could talk about baseball and his team.  In my dad’s case it was the Yankees, but the passion was just the same, he loved baseball and all of the history that went with the game.

I snapped several photos of Tommy speaking and even got a photo with him myself.  My friend Tanya of Design Action Studios was also there and put together a little video montage of the event and his speech which you can view here.  If you like baseball, especially the Dodger’s you want to watch this!
