J+D Bridal Portrait Style- Part I Orange County Wedding Photography

Today we wanted to share something very creative and a little different. We have been wanting to get into doing some sessions after the wedding, a chance for our brides to put their dress back on and do a relaxed session with a little glamor and lots of fun.  For this session…maybe the hair is a little more free, and we get into an awesome location that is non-traditional and just have FUN.

Over the past few weeks my session idea came to life. I came across a gorgeous wedding gown and thought… this needs to be photographed! So, I began to put the pieces together with a lovely model, hair + make-up, a bridal bouquet and a fabulous location. This would be a chance for some great creatives to get together and showcase their talents.

My friend Lori, is absolutely stunning, so I approached her about wearing the gown and she was all in…she said she would love to play dress-up!

The hair and make-up was an obvious choice because my good friend Kylee House is a professional stylist at The W Salon in Laguna Hills, you can check her out at Hair by Kylee on Facebook, make sure you become a fan. She has done hair + make-up for some of my clients before and does an AMAZING job…she has even made me look fabulous when we needed photos for our website. If you are in need of a stylist, please contact her at 949.433.1279…you will absolutely love what she does!

All that was left were the flowers, and so it happened that a mutual friend recently introduced me to Richelle at The Flower Girl in Dana Point, CA. So, I contacted Richelle to see if she was interested in donating a bouquet to my “creative cause”, and it would give her the opportunity to showcase her fabulous floral design. Just like that…all the girls were in! I explained to both Kylee and Richelle, what I envisioned in the shoot…which was something simple, but elegant with warm tones. Both ladies, who are very talented ran with it and everything came out exactly how I wanted.

When I picked up the bouquet at the shop, her assistant Megan brought it out and I was amazed at how it turned out. Richelle and her team took my vision and created a gorgeous bouquet of fall colored roses, with a few simple fillers and wrapped it with chocolate ribbon. As I looked around the shop, each arrangement had its own unique beauty, which would make any occasion absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend there floral design for your next occasion.

And now what you have all been waiting for…as all of these creative personalities come together we have this stunning group of images. There were so many to choose from, but these were our absolute favorites. Stay tuned later this week for Part II of this blog post as we put together a slide show of some of the other images. A special thanks to Lori, Kylee & Richelle for making our creative endeavor a success! J+D
